Did a bit more today.
Poked around with a screwdriver and revealed more "Dusky" stuff 8O

Fusebox area is fooked, so remover ALL the loom, what a bloody ballache, but needed to be done.




And loom all removed :mad:

Well, at least this way, it'll last another 20 odd years when the shells been stripped of all the rust, and replaced with nice new metal panels.

Today's been productive and alot of wasted time.

Cleaned up the head, put all the valves and springs back in, fooking collets were a bastard and didn't want to know on a few of them, but perseverance prevailled.

Ordered NEW Febi Rockers from GSF , as they were able to deliver to me.

Then, problems started, LOL, putting the shafts in, and trying to get the first rocker in place, "Rocker says No",

COOONT, looked at it, scratched my head, phoned Zaust (Thanks Marc)
and after looking at the other 11 of them, GSF had put in an M20 one!!!

On the phone again, and an hour later all sorted..................so I thought, looked at the rocker and realised it wasn't FEBI , but a cheap chinese piece of shit

Again, onto the phone, and another hour late, and checked it before the driver drove off, It was aFEBI M30 Rocker..

Then it was onwards.
Result....all I have to do now is change a few gaskets for new ones, and it'll be ready to bolt onto the bottom end tomorrow....

Not alot going on as i still don't have the lower crank seal, but hopefully , that'll be sorted out tomorrow.

So, all i've done to day is some peado cleaning action.
Exhaust heatsheild cleaned and VHT silver used to cover it.

Usually just means the topic is interesting and he's subscribed for updates. (I am as well, but chose not to advertise the fact. )

In this case it's safe to assume it's a complementary addition to a thread. That's not always the case though, as some will subscribe to a thread that's spiraling rapidly, heading for a crash. I love what you're doing and look forward to seeing more. The cleaned & painted heat shield...

Not a lot happening so far, but this, and that's it due to work commitments.

Standard fit as far as I know.
Has a cooling duct from the rear of the main beam to the alternator.

Yeah, just looks like there's a chip out of the alternator housing where the duct goes. Not a big deal, great progress Ray! keep it up

Updates will be coming in about 4 weeks, at the moment, the car is in for a media blast, body work and a full respray.
The engine is being stripped down again for a full crank, flywheel balance, but the compression is staying low for the Rotrex.

BTW Bungles, what HP did you make?

I made 302bhp @6psi wasn't bad went really well to be honest I'm just trying to perfect the other one I got now that runs a eaton charger

You are very very brave.
Many people would have just bought another one.

In the UK, this is actually rather minor rust. I once heard they use approx. 500 lb. of salt per mile in the winter (not to mention that there is a huge proportion of 'coast cars' compared to here). You should see what they have to do to rebuild Triumphs that are 20 yrs. older than this.

ya, updates are pretty rare in the whole FI section, looking back at this thread, the S36 intake manifold is like worth its weight in gold now, you need a donor car and/or complete engine to get one of those now.....
