Yeah, but one can still edit, you don't have to accept suggestions. Yeah, it cuts speed in half but that's why I like a computer keyboard.Jeremy wrote:Swiftkey for Android likes to sometimes randomly capitalize words on me for no apparent reason. I count on Swiftkey to make up for the fact that I'm using a phone keyboard, not create more errors in the process! In fairness, it usually works out better than the standard Android keyboard, but those random capitalizations do drive me up a wall. I'd much rather be on a real keyboard too, but sometimes it just isn't available/feasible.Mike W. wrote:Yeah, but one can still edit, you don't have to accept suggestions. I figured as much, I'm just yankin' your chain. Of course being so anal about it is one of the reasons I'm so slow on a phone and I don't text much.Jeremy wrote:I count on Swiftkey to make up for the fact that I'm using a phone keyboard, not create more errors in the process! Just woke up and now shaving my face. Heading up to the elementary school in a bit. It's a Valentine's party and those little monsters will be keyed up tight. I know, I know . . . shaving on Friday?

Just a little sumpin sumpin for all those up in the snow buried freezing North to get the blood flowing a bit.

Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
Sunday night we went to a comedy show for this dude.
http://www.tomrhodes.net/
I don't really know much about him but he appears to be somewhat famous. Given that it was a Sunday night about 25 people showed up in a club that could seat 200 (no joke). So saying it was empty is an understatement.
A group of senior citizens out for a birthday bash became the vocal group from the audience, with one particularly buzzed lady continually interrupting the comedian about 5 seconds before he delivered each punchline. What started as witty banter back and forth between him and the senior citizen table escalated until he couldn't take it anymore and told the heckler what to do with her commentary. I felt bad for him (and us) as we endured another 20 minutes of the show where he was completely off his rhythm and half the audience was seething about the exchange of words between him and the heckler.
I can't even type out the final jokes but they were along the lines of Cleveland Steamer and other insane debauchery, possibly to see how far the audience could be pushed over the edge. Oh and after the exchange of insults with the audience, a guy sitting near us attempted to get up and leave (good idea) and fell into our table, too drunk to walk.![ROFL ](./images/smilies/rofl.gif)

I really enjoy a good comedy show, doesn't have to be great, but at least good. If it's not I can sit on my hands, but I'm never, ever, going to heckle one. It's their business to be quick with a reply for anything and they can and will cut people up. I don't even want to be up front to be a convenient target, but if you only had 25 people at a show everyone must have been upfront.

The Comedy Store has been enjoying a resurgence on the crusty old Sunset Strip. I've caught a string of quality shows there, and famous comics drop in randomly all the time. Good mix of young and veterans, and sometimes you can get on the guest list (no cover) if you follow them on Twitter and act fast when it's posted.
Off the top of my head we caught Sarah Silverman, Judd Apatow, Joe Rogan, David Spade, Kevin Nealon. Dave Chappelle dropped in a couple nights, as did Louis CK (wasn't there for either unfortunately). That area could use a shot in the arm, The Store is doing a good job of kickstarting things.

I really blew it on the 2015 e28 Calendar, and failed to commemorate Momofuku Ando's birthday, which is today. Google's Doodle for today reminded me of my error.
If ever there was a badass name... It should rightfully be associated with Sumo wrestling or Ninja assassination squads instead of Ramen noodles. But it is what it is. Happy Birthday you bad Momofuko.![Cool ](./images/smilies/icon_cool.gif)

Speaking of Google Doodles, I just ran across something I thought was gone forever, the Pac Man Google Doodle. If anyone wants to waste time on it, here it is.davintosh wrote:I really blew it on the 2015 e28 Calendar, and failed to commemorate Momofuku Ando's birthday, which is today. Had an idiot try to make their way out of Wally World with a shopping cart full of merch...$1,485 worth. Lucky for them, felony theft starts at $1,500.
No electronics in the basket. My first question, wtf did you steal (to get $1,485 in a single basket), Cadbury eggs and 5 hour energy?

Very deep.
This example of what would be a good choice (s), was experienced over my visit. Alot of changes will be done in my life. They started yesterday. More from here on.
Re: The Thread of Randomness. . .
There was a partial solar eclipse today.
What we have seen from Hungary:
![Image](https://mye28.z13.web.core.windows.net/external/8a1e227baa0d3ba14c157da263da3114.jpg)
And what the ESA Probe 2 satellite has seen:

I remember in 1999 there was a total eclipse. Something you can see only once in a lifetime.
